Samsung Good Lock: where to start with Home Up

Understand Samsung Good Lock and start with Home Up to customise your Galaxy home screen without changing everything at once.

Good Lock is Samsung’s collection of Galaxy customisation tools. Instead of putting every adjustment in one screen, it groups features into separate modules. Home Up is a useful place to begin if your home screen is the part you want to change.

Find the official app

Look for Good Lock from Good Lock Labs in Galaxy Store. The official listing notes that some devices are not supported. Check the listing on your own Galaxy rather than assuming every module will be available.

Start with one module

Open Good Lock and look for Home Up. Samsung’s documentation describes home-screen layout tools and gesture animation settings in this module. The options shown on your device depend on its software and installed module version.

For supported versions, Samsung documents Home Up → Gesture Settings → Home Gesture Animation. This is where its home-return animation controls are found.

Make changes you can judge

  1. Take a screenshot of your current home screen.
  2. Pick one adjustment: layout or animation.
  3. Use the phone normally before changing more settings.
  4. Return to that module if you want to undo or refine the change.

The aim is a phone that feels easier to use. A different layout is only an improvement if the apps and shortcuts you need are still easy to find.
