How to find Notification history on Samsung Galaxy
Find recently dismissed Galaxy notifications, turn on Notification history and understand what the list can show.
A swipe can clear an alert before you have read it. Samsung’s Notification history gives you somewhere to look for recent notifications, including ones dismissed from the notification panel.
Turn on Notification history
- Open Settings.
- Choose Notifications, then Advanced settings.
- Open Notification history and switch it on.
- Return to the same page when you want to check recent alerts.
What if the notification is missing?
Treat the list as a record of recent alerts, rather than a permanent message archive. Samsung notes that older notifications and some app or system alerts may be absent. If the option is missing, check your model’s support information and available software updates.
A useful way to check it
After enabling the feature, send yourself a harmless test notification, dismiss it and look for it in the list. That gives you a clear check on your own phone before you depend on it for something important.
If you are looking for the full conversation or attachment, open the original app. The history is a useful starting point for finding which app deserves a closer look.
